We want "A Muppet Family Christmas" on DVD/BluRay.

"A Muppet Family Christmas" is a TV special that first aired on ABC on December 16, 1987.  It remains the only plot-driven Muppet TV special to feature characters from 3 of the major Muppet franchises interacting with one another.  It is considered by many to be one of the best Muppet TV specials ever, one of the most underrated Christmas specials, and it was actually one of Jim Henson's personal favorite Muppet projects.

Sadly, in North America, "A Muppet Family Christmas" has been released twice on VHS, once on DVD, and is currently out of print and extremely hard to find. Additionally, "A Muppet Family Christmas" has not been shown on TV for years the same way that makes "A Charlie Brown Christmas" and Rankin/Bass' "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" perennial favorites.  It is also not available for streaming on Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, or any other popular streaming services.

 Also, because of music royalties that were cleared for TV but not for home media, several scenes were cut for home video release in the few copies of "A Muppet Family Christmas" people are actually able to find.

Last but not least, royalty issues are further complicated by the fact that each of these Muppet franchises are now owned by separate companies, unlike in 1987 when the Jim Henson Company owned them all.  The Walt Disney Company currently owns the Muppet Show Muppets (e.g. Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, etc.), Sesame Workshop owns the Sesame Street Muppets (e.g. Big Bird, Bert & Ernie, Elmo, etc.), and Henson's HIT Entertainment, LLC owns the Fraggle Rock franchise.

Muppet fans all over the world long for "A Muppet Family Christmas" to get the proper uncut DVD and BluRay release it deserves.  Plus, 2017 will mark the 30th anniversary of this special, which is all the more reason it should be released on DVD soon.

It's time to let the Walt Disney Company, Sesame Workshop, and HIT Entertainment know that there is a demand for this special, and in its original, uncut form.  You should sign this petition if you:
