We are citizens of the world who want to live in peace and joy. In the midst of hardship, we still aspire to live in peace and harmony. We do not like conflicts even if we come from different races and cultural background.
In the midst of the global financial crisis and massive poverty, we do not want violence to dominate our lives. We denounce all forms violence and discrimination because all of us have the right to live in peace and equality.
Therefore we appeal to every citizen of the world to endorse the World March for Peace and Nonviolence, which will be celebrated on October 2, 2009 January 2, 2010. This is the first global march to cover more than 100 countries where people from different walks of life, regardless of religious belief, political ideology, and cultural and racial background will march together calling for:
1 Nuclear disarmament at a global level;
2. The immediate withdrawal of invading troops from occupied territories
3. The progressive and proportional reduction of conventional weapons
4. The signing of non-aggression treaties between countries
5. The renunciation by governments of the use of war as a means to resolve conflicts
And furthermore, we reject all forms of violence and discrimination.
