Christ calls us Christians to drop our lives and follow him... drop everything we find familiar and follow him. But what does that mean in todays society? So many people misinterpret this I believe. So many Christians now interpret this as "so long as I tithe, and give of myself occasionally I'm doing what God wants". This is untrue, so untrue. God calls us to take leaps of faith for him, to listen to what he says even when it is scary and beyond out comprehension. Even when that is giving up our jobs that are physically and spiritually either destroying, or boring us. That's why I've chosen a different path, one that I know was ordained by God for me. God has a path for you, for me, for now it is the path of an artist and selling Handmade sterling silver jewelry. It's not much of a business, and scares me to the core... but for the reason of keeping my heart as a man I can't be strapped to the plow of the American industry and forced to produce... it's not how God designed us and it's not how I will live. I prefer to work every day with the freedom to move and change as God moves and changes in my life, and the freedom to produce quality work, working every day as if I were working for Christ himself.
