30 Seconds to mars at Taormina's Greek-Roman Theatre

WHAT WE ARE ASKING FOR
After following 30 Seconds to Mars for most of their tour, in Italy but especially abroad ,over the last year, we, the Sicilian fans of the band (United Echelon of Sicily), started to think how unforgettable would it be to see a 30 seconds to mars concert in such a magic place as the Taorminas Greek Theatre is.
The theatre is an important venue which regularly hosts many theatrical performances and some important concerts too.
Some great artists, such as the Cure, Liza Minelli, Elton John and many others, already chose this theatre as a venue for their concerts, delivering some unforgettable shows that drew people from all over the world.
Now we were wondering if 30 Seconds to Mars would be interested in joining this illustrious list of artists, making us (if possible) the great gift of performing in one of the most beautiful monuments here in Sicily, with one of the most charming landscape of our wonderful land in the background, making the Italian fans and above all the Sicilian ones very happy and honoured.

SOME INFORMATION

The city of Taormina was founded in 396 b.C. by the native Siculans.
The most important and best-preserved ancient monument of Taormina is its theatre.
It was built on a wonderful panoramic point, from which the massive structure of the Mount Etna and the Ionian Sea are clearly visible.
On some steps of the theatre theres carved the name of Filistide, wife of Hiero II, the king of Syracuse, who probably wanted the theatre to be built in the III century b.C.
The theatre was rebuilt in the II century a.D., during the Roman age.
The cavea, i.e. the space where the spectators sit, is 109 metres in diameter and its divided into 9 sectors.
The Taorminas Theatre is the second one in Sicily for its size, and it boasts the capacity of 5000 people.

Dopo aver seguito i 30 Seconds to Mars per buona parte del tour,in Italia ma soprattutto all'estero,nel corso dell'ultimo anno,noi fans siciliani della band (United Echelon of Sicily) abbiamo pensato che avere la possibilitа di assistere ad un loro concerto in un luogo magico come il Teatro Greco di Taormina sarebbe un'esperienza davvero indimenticabile.
Il teatro,oltre ad ospitare regolarmente molte rappresentazioni teatrali,и anche stato sede di importanti concerti.
Giа grandi artisti del calibro dei The Cure, Liza Minelli, Elton John e tanti altri hanno scelto il teatro come location per i loro show, realizzando degli spettacoli indimenticabili che hanno attirato spettatori da tutto il mondo.
Adesso noi proponiamo che, se possibile, anche i 30 Seconds to Mars si aggiungano a questa illustre lista di artisti, regalandoci un concerto in uno dei monumenti piщ belli della Sicilia,con sullo sfondo uno dei paesaggi piщ suggestivi della nostra splendida terra, rendendo felici ed onorati i fans italiani, e soprattutto noi siciliani.

QUALCHE INFORMAZIONE.
La cittа di Taormina и stata fondata nel 396 a. C. dagli indigeni Siculi.
Il monumento antico piщ importante e meglio conservato di Taormina и il teatro.
Fu realizzato in un punto panoramico meraviglioso, da cui si ammirano la mole dell'Etna e il Mar Jonio.
Su alcuni gradini и inciso il nome di Filistide, moglie di Ierone II, il tiranno di Siracusa che molto probabilmente nel III secolo a.C. fece costruire il teatro taorminese.
L'edificio fu ricostruito in etа romana e piщ precisamente nel II secolo d.C.
La cavea, cioи lo spazio per le gradinate, ha un diametro di circa 109 metri ed и divisa in nove settori. Il teatro di Taormina, per dimensioni, и il secondo della Sicilia, e vanta la capienza di ben 5000 persone.
