Dear Friend,

I, the undersigned American Citizen, awoke to a tragedy of incalculable proportions on the morning of November 3rd, 2004. As you know, George W. Bush was re-elected to a second term as the president of the United States. I write to you now not as an American, but as a Citizen of the World. George W. Bush is not my president, nor has he ever been my president. I believe that he and his administration have committed unfathomable atrocities in Iraq and elsewhere, and I am at a loss to explain to you how or why he was re-elected. I cannot fully comprehend the anger that you, who have been so sorely taxed without representation, must now feel, but please know that I too share this anger. Please accept this testament of solidarity as some small consolation in our mutual frustration. In no way does George W. Bush represent me or many of the citizens of this good, misguided nation.
