We the students...
Demand that the Abington Board of Commissioners reconsider the Discrimination Ordinance number 2008 that it recently voted down. In striking down this proposal, the Board has, put simply, denied to homosexuals what can be described as basic human rights - the right to work, the right to rent an apartment, the right to function in society. In 2011, how is it acceptable for an employer to legally deny someone a job solely due to their sexuality? It is clear now that, in Abington, we are first in the alphabet, first in excellence... and now first in bigotry. This is unacceptable.
