We the employee's of AOL Waterford, and extending employee's of all companies residing in the IDA industrial estate, which use the "Secure Car Parks" wish to outline the poor security practices in place to keep our cars secure.

Over the last few months, more and more cars have been broken into - Without any capturing of the culprits. I have personally witnessed a car door being broken in half right outside AOL's main door - Is security that poor that nobody can spot car thieves break a door in half?

Even cars parked in the designated "secure car parks" have been broken into.. Remains of broken glass can still be found scattered about our "secure" car parks for previous entries. What does AOL as a company plan to do about this other than pass the buck to the IDA - Who in turn refuse to do anything to compensate us as employee's, even though our cars are held in "secure car parks".

We as a whole can make a difference. We want AOL and the IDA to up security on car parks and take responsibility for any cars broken into while we are working here. A simple break in - can mean the difference between eating a 5 course meal for dinner, or scraping by with beans on toast for the week. It's not acceptable. AOL understands the risks involved in placement in the IDA industrial estate, where surrounding housing estates are known for having car thieves and worse.

We the undersigned ask AOL & the IDA to do something about the security of our cars. We the undersigned have grown tired of passing the blame from one agency to another. We the undersigned want something done and done now.
