Accountability for Roosevelt School District

We the people of this community have, but will not continue, to endure a school district that is consistently mismanaged. Arizona state statutes, federal laws, Roosevelt School District policies, parents, teachers and, ultimately, children are ignored in a process that serves to protect incompetent, self-serving individuals at all levels. We have problems.

Individuals seeking to improve their schools by participation or registering their concerns are consistently ignored or intimidated.

Many teachers exit based, quite often, on oppressive administrators and their chosen few, who operate under a cloak of secrecy with little or no accountability.

Hundreds in this community are choosing to send their children outside of this district. Even more frustrating is that a large portion of our property taxes remain at schools that are failing our children and our community, which ultimately affects the value of our homes.

This is no longer a plea to be heard, but a demand upon the people who are appointed and/or paid to serve we must have your help!

It is the purpose of this petition to seek improvement through accountability. On the road towards this improvement, it is our demand to have a series of open public meetings outside of Roosevelt District School Board control that will include representatives from the Arizona Department of Education, Arizona attorney general, mayor, city council and/or state legislators.

Some of the items we are hopeful to obtain include professionally managed and confidential parental and teacher satisfaction surveys, a committee to review and account for formal registered complaints, and a committee to interview teachers and parents who have exited the district. We must learn the reasons to correct the problems.

Final results of this survey will be presented in a press release.
