Twenty one years ago, over 10,000 innocent Sikhs, including children, were killed, murdered, burnt alive across north India down to Karnataka. Since the 1984, the successive Indian governments had appointed 10 commissions and committee to inquire into the incident. However, none of those who perpetrated the crime and instigated the mob have been punished
For survivors of these victims, time does not heal. The hurt, the anger and the sense of betrayal remain. What the survivor families of these innocent victims demand is justice. They have waited for 21 long years, but it has eluded them.
Therefore this petition has been set up to demand the following:
1. To have the perpetrators of these heinous crimes be prosecuted and brought to justice
2. To provide appropriate compensation for the victims of the 1984 anti-Sikh pogrom.
We the undersigned urge the above mentioned to see that perpetrators of these heinous crimes should be prosecuted and brought to justice.
