We the undersigned, condemn the illegal and inhuman demolition of Shambhu Prasad Singh's house in the South City Mall of Kolkata on 24th Dec, 2008 and the physical assault on his family members. We feel this is an egregious violation of the basic human rights of Shambhu Singh and his family. The demolition of a structure sub-judice, makes a mockery of our judicial system.
We demand that,
1) Shambhu Singh and his family be provided the security to stay in their own home,
2) The people at whose behest Shambu Singhs house was demolished and his property looted be brought to justice immediately.
Shambhu Singh is an Indian citizen and as such should receive the full protection of law. Flouting Shambhu Singhs fundamental rights amounts to a violation of the entire citizenry's rights.
We stand in solidarity with Shambhu Singh and his familys brave struggle against their illegal eviction without consent.

If the Mall needs land, let them make an offer. Tomorrow if Shambhu Singh needs land should he demolish the mall?
