-Against the Abuse of Animals-

Any action taken against animals that is harmful to them is considered Animal abuse and Violence. This ranges anywhere from unintentional acts such as neglect, or intentional acts such as beating, burning, piercing, brutally killing, or emotional neglect.
Most professional Psychiatrists and Therapists agree that animal abuse is not just a flaw in the abuser's mind but more or less a need to feel empowered so they take it out on an animal that usually won't fight back. Or the abuser was abused at any point in their childhood by any adult they looked up to, so mentally they think that it is the right way to treat an animal.
I have started this petition in hopes to lock down harder on animal abusers. Yes, most animal abusers do it because of a psychological condition way deep down in the unconscious but it is still wrong. They should not get off easier just because animals are animals and not human beings. They have rights just as we do, just because the animals cannot talk in reply to what we say to them does not mean they lack intelligence.
If our goal of 6,000 signatures is reached I promise to send this to the President of the ASPCA, my local representative in the senate, and then more so to Congress in hopes they will take us seriously enough to finally crack down on Animal Abuse laws.
