Against the depiction of Medina in MGS4

We are writing to express concern and hurt about the depiction of a destroyed Medina as a stage in Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. Since this revelation (recently showed in the E 4 All English demo of MGS4) many MGS fans have been shocked, dismayed and outraged by the depiction of Medina, as a war torn city, in the upcoming game. Many diehard MGS fans are so appalled that they have decided to boycott MGS4.
This is not about ethnicity, culture or even religion, it is about recognizing what is important to others and not to disregard or tarnish it.
Makkah and Medina are the two most sacred places to Muslims, bar none. The way this game is seemingly advertising the destruction of one of holiest cities is quite disrespectful to the global Muslim population.
Since the game is to be released in Early 2008 and there is still plenty of time left until its release. We would like to request for change of the citys name from Medina to any other Middle Eastern city (or a fictitious name). It is a minor change that would be much appreciated by the Muslim fan base and would circumvent any controversy, trouble and embargo that could arise regarding such a promising game.
Please dont disrespect 1.5 billion people, dont alienate thousands of MGS fans and kindly consider our request.
