Allow alcohol to be sold in West Auckland Supermarkets

West Aucklanders voted back in 2003 to stop supermarkets selling Alchol and to keep the trusts. I think now a lot of people have changed their minds about this.
It is really annoying that other areas of Auckland can buy alcohol with their weekly shop but West Aucklanders cannot. The convenience for me far outweighs the need for a free fire extinguisher or torch.
We have also read a newspaper article about the fact that the $80m the trusts claimed to have given back to the community was actually coming from Pokies not alcohol. More about this here:

This poll needs to be a private initiative without any Auckland Council involvement. On polling day, if 50 per cent or more electors vote to change the status quo, Auckland Council as the District Licensing Authority then has the power to change the way liquor is sold and supplied in West Auckland. If less than 50 per cent of electors vote for a change the status quo remains.
