On December 1, 2010, Amazon.com caved in to pressure from the US Department of Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee. Commenting on the matter, Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee Chairman Joe Lieberman, (I-Conn.), said that companies should [not] be doing business with Wikileaks.

It only follows that if corporations should be encouraged to retaliate against highly reasonable critics of the State by not allowing them to be heard, individuals should retaliate against those corporations. We, the undersigned, vow to remove our credit cards from Amazon's database(s) and close our account(s), as detailed on Amazon.com's cancellation page ( http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=565164 ). Should Amazon.com attempt to stop us from doing so by changing the URL of their cancellation page, we understand that it may be found through the use of a search engine or by phoning Amazon.com directly for further instruction.
