We, the consumer, feel that the choice by Creative Assembly, and SEGA, to use STEAM for the latest Total War release was wrong and unjust.
While we agree that the game packaging does state that activation is required through STEAM, it makes no mention that this third party software is required to run the product we paid for.
We feel the retail version should have remained as, 'insert disk, cd-key, play'. (We would also like to note that the use of STEAM for anti-piracy purposes was, and always will remain pointless - there are work arounds out there for this).
We would like to make it clear that any future releases of the Total War series, through STEAM only, will not be paid for by us.

Once I found out about Steam, I just simply stopped creaming my pants about seeing TW EMPIRE. Steam? Forget it. I don't use the internet. What about releasing a single-player version Steam-free. Why all the hassle? Why should we pay more because of theft

I wish it had LIVE. It basically a Windows component, not 3rd party. And you don't have to run it on background while playing. Hell, Empire even had GFW banner, and it used Steam. What a joke!
