AOL No More Chat Room Spam

For years, AOL chat rooms have been spammed. It was okay at first, but soon pornography got involved. Chat rooms were no longer safe for children and teenagers (the main user of AOL instant messenger service). Things only worsened. Bots (slang name for the program that sends spam messages) not only spammed the chat room, but now sent instant messages to users. A big issue is that some of these links the bots send are really malicious links or Trojan viruses. Now the problem has escalated to such a level that at times there are 5 + bots in a single room, all spamming away. Many of the bots dont even do anything; they just sit there taking up space that some real person who intends to chat can take. The problem with bots has increased. AOL Instant Messenger has lost much of the charm it had when I first installed it because of this menace. By signing this petition, other real people agree this problem has become too large, and action needs to be taken sooner rather than later. I hope you can take some action against such bots, and make chat rooms a friendly and safe environment once again. Thank you for your time.
