Ban Bonsai Kitten

I just found a website that is dedicated to alter the shape of kittens by inserting them into small crystal cubes when theyre just as one week old and leaving them there while they develop. They use methods like putting glue in their anus to avoid waste buildup and the use of valium to tranquilize them. They argue that their methods are USDA approved and safe and that the kittens can even breathe air. They also compare this type of shaping to the art of bonsai, thus calling it Bonsai Kitten. Their website is http://www.bonsaikitten.com

I was appalled when I saw this. This represents a form of animal cruelty. Cats, as any other animals need space to move and freedom to explore their environment. Thats the way they grow up to be healthy animals. And by healthy I dont mean only a healthy body, but also a healthy mind. Its shocking to see how insensitive can people be about this type of practice. You only need to read the Guestbook in that website to feel all the madness of this. How is this any different from the foot-binding that was practiced on women in China?

I invite everyone that reads this petition to visit this website and to DEMAND TO STOP this kind of practice and to ban this website. I am petitioning the ASPCA as well as any other animal protection groups and the U.S. Congress to put a stop to this insane practice.
