For those who work in these environments for an eight-hour shift, they are inhaling the equivalent of four packs of cigarettes during their shift! This is extremely detrimental to their health, and something needs to be done about it!
This is the approach that the state of California took when banning cigarettes from all public places throughout the entire state. It was done to protect the workers.
There are far fewer smokers and tobacco-related illnesses in California now than there were just a few years ago. And businesses such as bars and nightclubs are doing better than ever.
Why don't our elected officials here in the great state of Arizona follow in the footsteps of California and enact a similar law in order to protect the health of people who work in bars and nightclubs? Do they not care about the health and well being of their residents? How do lobbyists from the tobacco industry control them so well?
