Berwick Academy is Violating Ryan Walters Constitutional Rights

I am writing this petition on behalf of Ryan Walters, whose 1st and 14th amendment rights are being violated by Berwick Academy. Ryan is being sent to the Honor Committee because of a statement he wrote on his Facebook page. While what he wrote may not be in the best taste, he did nothing wrong in writing it. According to the ACLU:
"Students cannot be punished for posting comments online from their home computers criticizing their teachers. Absent a credible threat of harm, criticism is protected by the First Amendment," said Maria Kayanan, associate legal director, ACLU of Florida.
Since there was no threats directed to anybody at Berwick Academy,
Ryans rights are protected speech because his posting contained no threats of violence towards the teacher, nor did his posting disrupt activities at Berwick Academy. It is very ironic that Berwick Academy teaches us about First Amendment Rights in History Class, which includes the right to free speech, but then according to the ACLU, unconstitutionally trampling those very rights.
The Honor Committees actions could cause Ryan to be stripped of his Sophomore Class Presidency and also face further sanctions that are clearly in violation of Ryans Constitutional rights.
I ask all of you to sign this petition, and I ask Berwick Academy to not violate Ryans Constitutional rights.
