Petition to STOP the Braxton County Board of Education from making any changes to the Middle School and it's student programs for 2011-2012.
PETITION SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND:
In three months, the Board of Education plans to move its administrative offices into the Middle School and use the bond money in a way that we DID NOT VOTE ON AND APPROVE! The Middle School was approved for classrooms, not office and storage rooms. Our elementary schools are not ready for more students. Their classrooms, cafeterias and gyms are not adequate for older students. At the same time, a complete library, band and sports program will not be available as promised. Our children with special needs will be deprived of local schooling.
ACTION PETITIONED FOR:
We, the people of Braxton County urge our leaders to act now to STOP ANY AND ALL PLANS FOR DECONSOLIDATION UNTIL there is responsible planning and the needs of the students are addressed.
