/n/ was a decent board, it was where you could learn much about both foreign and domestic politics along with current events. It had trolls and shitposting too, but it was no worse than some other boards we could mention.
A designated News board would keep discussion out of other boards where it is not wanted, thus increasing the quality of those boards as well.
