Bring Back Scrubs STAT!

As of the writing of this petition, the critically acclaimed, Emmy nominated (including Outstanding Comedy Series), and fan-favorite television comedy SCRUBS has yet to be scheduled for a much deserved fifth season on the NBC 2005/2006 television schedule.

It is well time that NBC realizes that fans of SCRUBS and quality television programs - as well as sponsor supporting consumers - want the series SCRUBS to return to the NBC television line-up.

While it has been public knowledge that a fifth season of SCRUBS is a definite reality as of March of 2004, it is still unknown as to when the fifth season will actually premiere. At the Advertiser Upfronts held in May, NBC announced that SCUBS would "return at some point," most likely around midseason. Various news sources reported that NBC president's Kevin Reilly's explanation for the delay of SCRUBS return was due to in part to accommodate series star Zach Braff's summer movie shooting schedule. But, TV Guide's Mike Ausiello reported that was just not true - "A source close to the show claims production on the new season will begin on schedule in August. 'Zach is shooting two movies this summer, but it won't delay production,' groans the insider. 'No one knows why Kevin said that.'"

Series creator and executive producer Bill Lawrence recently mentioned in a video log entry at IGN.com that SCRUBS may be returning in the early weeks of November 2005 - but this now appears very unlikely.

While that there is no doubt that SCRUBS will in fact be returning for a fifth season NBC needs to be made well aware that SCRUBS is a quality program beloved by many and the show does not deserved to be treated like the proverbial "ugly redheaded stepchild." (Note: no offense to ugly redheaded stepchildren.) SCRUBS does deserve to return with a respectable time-slot to the NBC television schedule sooner than later.

There is a legion of SCRUBS fans waiting anxiously and growing ever impatient over the delay of SCRUBS return to television. NBC needs to do what is right and show SCRUBS the respect that it deserves. Thank you.
