Rumors have been rampant that Paul Reubens, creator and actor of the Pee-Wee Herman character has been in the works of producing a new film based on his previously popular television series "Pee-Wee's Playhouse".
Unfortunately these rumors proved to be untrue, as Mr. Reubens himself stated in the following interview:
1Comedian Paul Reubens likes to lie during interviews because it gets investors interested in projects that haven't been approved by studio executives. The 54-year-old star last night admitted to chat show host Jimmy Kimmel that during a previous appearance on his program his comments about a new Pee-Wee Herman movie weren't true.
He said, "Well, here's the thing. I totally, during interviews, a lot of the time, lie. I make stuff up.
"The first time it ever happened, someone said 'What are you doing next?' And I said, 'I'm building Pee-Wee Land.' And it got printed and I started getting phone calls from investors.
"I made up on your show, and in a couple of other interviews, I was doing a Pee-Wee movie. So now everyone's going, 'When's the movie coming out?' And there's isn't a movie. It's a little bit awkward."
The rumor was clearly an attempt at sparking potential interest in investors or supporters of the project.
With Mr. Reubens past mistakes aside it is believed many of us would enjoy seeing him on the screen one final time. The purpose of this petition is to show how much interest exists in a new addition to the line of Pee-Wee movies, thus showing the potential profit to be made should a producer decide to become involved with Mr. Reubens in his project. He has made us laugh many times in the past, and we believe he can bring laughter to us yet again.
The following signees would pay to see Paul Reubens once again play the role of Pee-Wee Herman.
