Star Ocean EX, an anime series based on the Playstation game Star Ocean: the Second Story, is currently airing in Japan. The art and animation are wonderful, the characters are absolutely gorgeous, and the voice cast reads like a seiyuu Who's Who. With all this in mind, this series is not only of interest to Star Ocean fans, but to fans of anime in general, and would probably do quite well in the US.
The only problem is, it hasn't been licensed here.
We would like this to change.
What we want: Star Ocean EX, in its entirety, released in the US, in VHS and possibly DVD format as well. Given the outstanding Japanese voice cast, I think most of us would prefer to see it subtitled; but a dub, with a cast of comparable talent, would be acceptable. We would also appreciate it if this series was not censored, cut, or "sanitized for our protection" in any way; please do not turn it into a kiddie cartoon (this fate befell several series that came to the US; Sailor Moon, Card Captor Sakura, and a few others come to mind).
Once this petition closes, it will be sent to companies in the US that distribute anime: Viz, ADVision, Bandai, Pioneer, and Media Blasters are at the top of the list.
