Bring T.O. Back

(While this may fall on deaf ears, we have to give it the old-fashioned, last-minute, ill-fated, Philadelphia fan try. We owe it to ourselves as fans and to this city, which has been devoid of a championship for more than 20 years. Here goes nothing)

Dear Andy Reid, Head Coach and General Manager of the Philadelphia Eagles,

Please put aside your gigantic ego for a few minutes and accept Terrell Owens back as a starting wide receiver for the Philadelphia Eagles.

T.O. might not always say the smartest things, but hes the best wide receiver the Eagles have seen in almost three decades.

Hes the only wide receiver who youve brought around in your seven years who can turn one of your cheap, three-yard, wide-receiver screen passes into a 91-yd touchdown. [See this years Denver game.] Ask Billy McMullen or Darnerien McCants to do that.

T.O. is an amazing talent with an almost unparalleled passion to win how can you justify punishing him for that? So he might have pointed out Donovans tendency to overthrow targets by five yards or to not see wide open receivers on account of his severe tunnel vision. Whats wrong with a little constructive criticism? Its no secret that Donnys in the midst of the worst season of his career.

But you can rectify all of that. Bring T.O. back and save the Eagles' season. Remind Donovan about sticks and stones and tell him to let it go and to stop being such a thin-skinned baby.

And Andy, taking Terrell back doesnt make you a loser. This isnt middle school. In the real world, when people apologize, both parties shake hands and move on. They dont turn it into a he-said/she-said pissing contest that makes the Eagles organization look about as mature as my little sisters junior prom.

The players want him back. The fans want him back. T.O. wants to be back. Be a man, Andy. Do whats best for the Eagles season not whats best for your street cred, about which no one cares.

Just call No. 81 and let him know that you and he can, indeed, coexist. Bring him back. Hell behave. Trust me. Terrell has learned his lesson.

After all, hes not the one who got tired in the Super Bowl.
