To the organisers of Metal For The Brain Brisbane,
We, the undersigned, wish to have it known we feel The Basement would not be an ideal location for this years upcoming MFTB event. While we agree The Basement is a great venue and does a lot for the local scene we feel it is simply too small and ill-prepared for anything more than a couple of bands playing. Recently they held a Halloween Hellfest with a large number of bands playing in which we are sure anyone who attended can say was over crowded (with a huge line of people waiting to get in after the limit was reached) and under resourced in both amenities (both trying to get to and waiting in line for a toilet) and bar functionality (Half hour waits to get a drink + running out of jugs and basic spirits).
We propose the following venues (All of which have had large international acts play with little to no problems):
The Waterloo Hotel
The Indie Temple
The Arena
Other possible venues may be found at the local Universities, Halls and Parks.
