In December 2007, work will begin on redeveloping the home ground of Bristol Rovers into an 18,500 all-seater stadium. The Memorial Stadium is therefore expected to be out of use as a sports playing facility for around 18 months. During these 18 months Bristol Rovers will need somewhere to play their "home" games. Four grounds were shortlisted. Bristol Rovers have sinced ruled out the possibility of playing at Bath City's. They have already asked Bristol City whether they can use their ground, and the answer was a straight 'no'. Now they are attempting to ground share with either Swindon Town or Cheltenham Town. This has upset all the loyal fans of these clubs who do not want to ground share with a club from another city. This is why I propose that Bristol Rovers should play on one of the football pitches on the top of Lansdown Hill in Bath. This location is a lot closer to Bristol Rovers current ground, which will mean that the team and the fans do not have as far to commute.
