Basically i'll keep this short and sweet. As many of you know there has always been the issue about poly students paying a higher fare for transportation as compared to jc students. Time and again this issue has been brought up to the government and time and time again nothing has been done about it. One reason i always hear is that 'poly students are more matured as compared to jc students'. Aren't we of the same age afterall? If that's the case, why classify polys as tertiary educations? It is true that some people in poly are older as they continue their studies after finishing their national service but at the end of the day, we still go to school to study. Does that not make us students afterall? If maturity IS indeed a factor for the difference in bus fares, then why is it that secondary students aren't paying different prices? I always hear people say that the PSLE is meant to stream the students to express, normal academic and normal technical streams as the students mature at different ages from primary school to secondary school. If that's the case, shouldn't express stream students be paying more as well as compared to the normal academic and normal technical students? Aren't they more mature? On top of this now, there is a new issue about increasing transportation fares ONCE AGAIN. Take a look at our poly fees. As it is, we pay near to 1k each semester. Aren't we poly students paying through our noses enough? Feel free to sign this, if not just pass it on. Hopefully this time something can FINALLY be done about this issue.
