Call to Boycott CNN over Irresponsible, Sensationalist Reporting in the Vick Scandal

Since the indictment of Michael Vick on federal charges stemming from his alleged involvement in dogfighting, CNN has irresponsibly engaged in sensationalist reporting on the subject of dogfighting. By placing graphic, disturbing images of dogs injured during these fights on its main web pages and showing extended graphic footage of actual dogfights, CNN has shown that it cares far more about getting as many viewers as it can through the unnecessary
exhibition of these images than it does about taking care to not upset children and animal lovers who might be viewing their websites or channels.

We the undersigned call for a boycott of CNN until they realize that their organization has a duty to report the news responsibly.
