To: East Tennessee State University Faculty, Staff, and Public Safety.

Problem: We the students of East Tennessee State University make a solemn request that positive action be taken in remedying the lack of student parking. As paying customers at this institution we would like to see enough parking places for every student. Each day upon arriving to campus there are an abundance of open spaces, but they are all empty staff parking spaces. At most businesses the staff parks in the back of the lot for the customers to have the better spots. This business is opposite of that and we request a better look.

Therefore the undersigned request: The possibility of a new parking lot on the south side of campus reserved only for students living on campus. Therefore, freeing up many of the spaces around campus for commuters. Or possibly working with Carnegie hotel to use the parking garage across from campus. Since many professors and staff are gone by early afternoon another possibility to examine could be to make all spaces legal at an earlier time in the day. We request a closer look at the problem and a solution.
