Connor Harrison my 10 year old grandson who is undergoing Chemotherapy and radiotherapy after having a brain tumour removed was nominated to carry the olympic torch through coca cola. He is the youngest child in this Country to be woke up during brain surgery and has featured in various newspapers for his bravery. A friend of his nominated him for his courage throughout this illness, which is the second time he has suffered a major illness as he also had leukaemia at the age of 2 1/2.
Connor had to sign up to agree to the nomination but was rejected as the age limit is 12.
As illness and bravery does not distinguish between ages why should there be a restriction? surely if a child is old enough to be ill and go through the kind of treatment he has then he is old enough to be nominated to carry the torch.
If you agree and would like to see this changed so that Connor has a chance of been picked to carry the torch as so many of his friends think he deserves please sign my petition.
