1981, and Cheryl, Mike and Jay won Eurovision for the UK with "Making Your Mind Up". They then went on to have 3 UK number one singles and sell 15 million records.
In the 21st Century, 31 years later, they are still selling out major venues like the London Palladium.
Legally, nobody is allowed to call them Bucks Fizz. This is because the "trademark" of Bucks Fizz belongs to the wife of the fourth original member, Bobby Gubby. Mr and Mrs Gubby perform with a string of unknown singers who come and go to make up the four-piece. They have listed on their website a handful of gigs in Haven caravan parks.
We think it is crazy that 3/4 of the Eurovision winning act are being actively prevented from working under a professional name which, in every moral sense, belongs to them.
