Coil Separation

We, the members and players of the Camarilla, are petitioning for the Ordo Dracul Coils of the Dragon system to be given an experience point discount or break. We offer the following justification for our request:

There are 20 published non-heretical Coils and six heretical Coils. In order for a PC to master Coils of the Dragon it would take 1472 Experience Points NOT including the heretical Coils. A PC's 15th Coil of the Dragon costs ALONE the same amount as purchasing an entire out-of-clan discipline from 0-5.

We have been informed that PCs are not supposed to be able to master all of the Coils of the Dragon. The difficult arises when the power level of Coils of the Dragon are compared to the rituals of the Lancea Sanctum and consideration is given to the fact that members of the Lancea Sanctum MAY master all of Theban Sorcery.

The Lancea Sanctum possess a level four ritual called Call of Amoniel that grants the user the ability to remain awake for the entire day for the cost of one willpower. Additionally the user may substitute his successes in place of his humanity for purposes of acting during the day for a number of hours equal to his Theban Sorcery rating. The first aspect of the power mirrors the Coil of Banes level two: Surmounting the Day Sleep. This Coil costs a minimum of 14 experience points and a maximum of 126 experience points.

In order for a Lancea Sanctum character to completely and totally master Theban Sorcery as well as purchasing ever single ritual in print at this time (though some rituals are not approved for Camarilla play yet) it would cost the player 307 experience points.

Additionally the Ordo Dracul ranking system is based on the number of Coils a player character possesses. This dramatically increases the likelihood that a player with a low membership class will be unable to play a 'mover and shaker' within the Ordo Dracul. The current system is weighed in favor of those with higher MC.

The Circle of the Crone possess a level three ritual called Flower of Demeter that enables the user to eat food, breath and have flushed skin for the entire evening without cost beyond the vitae used to cast the ritual. This mirrors Coil of Flesh level two: A Taste of Life, though the Coil power costs a vitae per scene. This Coil costs a minimum of 14 experience points and a maximum of 126 experience points.

In order for a Circle of the Crone character to completely and totally master Cruac as well as purchasing every ritual in print at this time it would cost the player 319 experience points. In order to master Cruac as well as all of Spirit Cruac would cost the player 342 experience points.

We petition for the following change to be made to the experience point cost of Coils of the Dragon:

1) Coil Separation:
Each individual Coil of the Dragon is considered its own discipline for purposes of determining the cost of the PC's next Coil. Ex:
Bob the Gangrel has Coil of Beast level 1 and Coil of Banes level 2. He would like to purchase Coil of Beast level 2. Rather than pay 28 experience points that it would cost for his fourth total Coil dot in the current system, using the Coil Separation system Bob would only pay 14 experience points for Coil of the Beast level 2.
From an experience point standpoint this breaks down to 70 experience points to master a single Coil of the Dragon and 350 experience points to master all of the non-heretical Coils of the Dragon and 434 experience to master every Coil of the Dragon in print.
