Cornell Ballroom Dance Club space reservation

For many years, we have been providing quality, non-profit ballroom and latin dance instruction, collectively called ballroom, in more than nineteen dances to the Cornell community, along with a friendly, non-exclusive environment in which to learn it. Our lessons are ALWAYS at capacity because we have such a large membership base.
Because of this, our club has become the center of social ballroom dance activity at Cornell, and in Ithaca. Our club has had such an impact that students at Ithaca College have started their own successful ballroom dance club based on our model: a friendly, non-profit environment in which to dance. It is no shock then, that our membership is often in excess of 100 moving, dancing people. This is why the Appel Multipurpose room is so necessary to our continuation as a club.
Furthermore, there are no other groups on campus or in Ithaca that offer our level of dance instruction at our rates. We started this club in 1992 with the idea that ballroom dance should be available to everyone.
Appel is the only space on campus that can hold us, and we require only 3 hours a week. The bottom line is this: if we do not get our space, it is inevitable that ballroom dance as we know it, as Cornell knows it, would disappear from campus.
