Create fix for 5G iPods for use in Windows

We, the undersigned, will hereby urge Apple Computer to create a fix for the following problem with the new 5th generation iPods:

A multitude of new iPod 5G owners experience severe difficulties with connecting the iPod to a Windows based PC. Typical symptoms we have experienced are: the iPod is not recognized by Windows, iTunes or iPod updater; the iPod is not recognized as an individual drive; when connected to a PC, the iPod seems to bring open applicaitons to a halt. Installing new drivers does not help; re-installing the iTunes and iPod software does not help; the so-called "5 R's" do not help. We have thoroughly tried and exhausted all the available tips on your web sites, to no avail. This includes the users' own tips on your forum pages (http://discussions.apple.com/forum.jspa?forumID=807). The problem seems to be ever persistant no matter what we try.

Since so many of us are experiencing these problems, it seems that in a lot of cases the iPod simply is not compatible with our Windows based PC's. We have all downloaded and installed the required service packs for Windows etc. It seems that no matter what we try, the iPod simply will not work. Based on the number of signatures in this petition, the problem is clearly of such magnitude that your help is necessary in this matter.

We urge you to look into the situation, and provide us with the necessary tools to correct the problem.
