CSS HUNLEY
WHEREAS, the Commander and crew of the CSS Hunley fought and died for the sovereignty and the independence of the Confederate States of America; and
WHEREAS, their devotion and sacrifice for the Cause of Southern Independence must not be forgotten and should serve as an example for all Southerners from century to century; and
WHEREAS, the solemn and sacred occasion of their burial, with all accompanying honors and ceremonies, should reflect their beliefs and their loyalties; therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED that only the acknowledged national, naval, and battle flags of the Confederate States of America should be displayed and saluted at their burial and at all parades and ceremonies honoring them; and,
FURTHERMORE, and most specifically, be it resolved that the flag of their eternal enemy, the United States of America, must not and will not be displayed at any ceremonies preceding or during the burial of the Commander and crew of the CSS Hunley.

It is unthinkable that the invader's flag would be displayed at a true American patriot's last honors. These men made the ultimate sacrifice for their country in the second war of independence and should be honored as such.

I agree. These men died during a war, serving under the Confederate flags. To bury them under the flag of their enemy would be a dishonor to them. This funeral should be in keeping with the Confederate funerals that were held during that civil war period.
