Cypresswood Lake Gate Issue

WHEREAS, We are residents of a community touted as being gated.
WHEREAS, We, the residents, are concerned about traffic volume and the safety of our children and fellow residents who are constantly placed at risk due to the high volume of cut through traffic between Cypresswood Drive and Louetta Road.
WHEREAS, A representative of the property management company advised a Cypresswood Lake resident that the develper flatly refuses to close any of the gates during day time hours. No reason was given.
WHEREAS, The gates at either end of the development are kept open from morning to night. We understand that school buses, postal delievery vehicles, utility and service vehicles, etc. need access during the day. We reluctantly agree to keeping the front entry gate open during this time.
WHEREAS, The back entry gate has a narrow berth which yields more accidents and gate failure due to larger vehicles (such as cement trucks, 18-wheelers and larger construction vehicles) crashing in to the gate. All construction traffic should use the front gate anyway as it has a wider entry lane. By closing the back gates during the day, construction traffic would be rerouted to the front gate thereby eliminating the risk of gate failure and damage by said construction vehicles. Afterall, it is we, the residents who foot the bill for repair of the gate when it is damaged. If we can attempt to ameliorate and rectify the gate problem in this manner, it will be better for all persons who pay annual dues (a portion of which must go to constantly repair the back gate).
THEREFORE, We respectfully request that Mr. Fred Farner, the developer of Cypresswood Lake Subdivision, heed our collective voice and permit the back gate to be closed 24 hours a day. As well, we publicly thank him for hearing our voices regarding the playground issue and taking action to erect a much more suitable play area for our children. Should this petition (pertaining to the gates) not be effective in having our voices heard, we will demand the developer relenquish control of the subdivision immediately to allow the residents to control the subdivision and our concerns.
