Declaration for Renewable Energies Proliferation

Electrical energy is produced and consumed by the world. It can be categorized into three blocks according to the way of obtaining it, namely: energy obtained from fossil fuels, nuclear energy and renewable energy.

Following the nuclear disaster that occurred in Japan, several governments have established the closure of nuclear plants operating longer and moratorium on their nuclear policies for the coming years. Almost all countries have implemented rigorous new tests on the safety of operating plants under extremely adverse conditions with results that are still uncertain.


Fossil fuels are characterized as being present in specific areas of the earth's crust so that the vast majority belong only to certain countries. Strategically, this presents three important circumstances. The first is the obvious concern of political instability in many of the countries that concentrate these fuels. The second is the energy dependence of the industrialized nations that possess these fuels. The third factor is that the use of these fuels very negatively affects the environment.

Renewable energy can be utilized virtually anywhere in the world. Every country can independently produce renewable energy without risks to people and the environment, as compared to other sources. However, its implementation currently depends heavily on governments that have energy policies which have incentives for renewable energy.

With this declaration, the undersignatories call for a redefinition of government policy on renewable energy to ensure the safety of long-term investor, the continuity of employment in the sector and a stable and sustainable energy model for future society.
