Demand David Emerson Resign

Members of Parliament are elected to serve their constituents. On the January 23, 2006 Canadian Federal Election. David Emerson was re-elected as a Liberal in the Canadian Electoral District of Vancouver-Kingsway, British Columbia to represent them in Parliament.

On February 6, 2006 no less then two weeks after saying on election night "I'm going to be Stephen Harper's worst enemy,"..."We're going to stir the pot and you better believe we are going to make a heck of a lot of noise." David Emerson crossed the floor to become a member of the new Conservative Government in the International Trade Portoflio.

Prime Minister Stephen Harper who was elected on an accountability platform, throughout the Campaign talked about how corruption had seeped through the innerlevels of government and that the Liberals no longer could speak for accountability. Before the campaign, Harper had continuously condemned Belinda Stronach when she joined the Liberals in a floor move and swore he would never do something like that.

That being said we demand Stephen Harper apologize for misleading Canadians on how he claimed he would be more accountable and open then Paul Martin's Government. We also demand the resignation of David Emerson for blatantly lying to the electorate of Vancouver-Kingsway about his Political Affiliation and for disregarding those people who worked hard for him on a campaign where he said he was a Liberal, only to see him jump ship and become a Conservative.
