Demand proper security for our schools

The violence in our schools has been increasing over the years. Unfortunately, it is not just going to stop or go away. We must rise up and demand changes for the sake of our children! We are all reeling from the shock waves of the violence that is occuring more and more frequently in our schools.
Please check out the following link to the National Institute for Justice, who did a report titled "The appropriate and effective use of security technologies in US schools". This report was origninated in September 1999. Just over seven years later, these suggestions have not been implemented in most schools.
It is the responsibility of the Department of Education of the United States, the Department of Education for each state, county, and town, to protect our children from violence! Extreme measures must be taken immediately to ensure the safety of the children, teachers, and staff of our schools! Let's make them aware that we will not sit back and ignore this problem.
We the people demand proper security be provided for all public schools, regardless of the status of the community in which the school is located. Pressure must be put on our local school boards to demand funding from the Department of Education of the US. Our schools need video surveillance, metal detection, emergency alarms, armed security officiers and the involvment of local police departments.
