THIS PETITION IS DESIGNED FOR THOSE PEOPLE WHO WISH TO SUPPORT DNA TESTING BEING DONE FOR AN INNOCENT MAN. ROY BROWN WAS PUT IN PRISON FOR A MURDER HE DID NOT COMMIT. IN FACT HE HAD NEVER EVEN MET THE WOMAN WHO WAS SO BRUTALLY MURDERED. DNA TESTING OF THE PHYSICAL EVIDENCE LEFT BEHIND BY THE REAL KILLER WOULD PROVE THAT ROY IS INNOCENT. UNFORTUNATELY THE DNA LAWS DID NOT GO INTO EFFECT IN NEW YORK UNTIL 30 MONTHS AFTER ROY'S TRIAL. ROY HAS REPEATEDLY ASKED THE COURTS TO ALLOW THIS TESTING TO BE COMPLETED. THE JUDGE AND DA SAY NO. I BELIEVE THEY FEAR THE RESULTS WOULD PROVE THEY ARE BOTH GUILTY OF LOCKING UP AN INNOCENT MAN. I AM NOT ASKING THAT YOU BELIEVE THAT ROY IS INNOCENT BUT ONLY THAT HE BE ALLOWED DNA TESTING TO PROVE GUILT OR INNOCENCE. ROY DESERVES HIS FREEDOM BACK AND THE REAL KILLER DESERVES TO BE PUNISHED.

If Mr. Brown thinks DNA testing will exonerate him, it should be done. It's bad eonugh we send guilty people to prisons which do little to help offenders reform themselves, but innocent people should never be incarcerated.
