It is estimated that there are over 100 million child slaves in the world today. In countries such as Haiti, India, Ivory Coast, Thailand, Taiwan, Pakistan, etc. thousands of children are slaving away in sweatshops, soldering/cutting jewelry, rolling cigarettes, weaving carpets, forced prostitution, and in fields. Some are as young as 3 years old. Most child slaves live in extreme poverty with virtually no access to education. Many of these children suffer from sicknesses including HIV/AIDS. Many are extremely malnourished and are subject to abuse of all kinds. This petition is an appeal to the people of the world to eradicate this scourge of child labor. Refuse to buy from companies that use child slavery to produce their products, such as Hershey's, Mars, Nestle, Nike, Gap, etc. Refuse to spend your tourist dollars with countries that use child slave labor.
