According to the Council, the fact that they had issued us a rent book was meaningless. The Council told us that we have no preferential right over the tenancy - the only people that were given first refusal for our house would be people released from prison, drug addicts, alcoholics and other special cases in that sector. The Council also stated that they have no obligation to rehouse us, even though it is them who would be making us homeless. For all they care, we could end up on the streets.
The Council are acting harshly and with an astonishing lack of compassion towards us. They cannot see the damage that has been done by the reversal of their original decision and the distress that this has caused us so soon after the death of our mum.
We wish to protest at this disgraceful and heartless treatment and urge the London Borough of Ealing to reconsider their actions in this case. Please sign and help us with our case.
