The purpose of this petition is simply to force Gary Bettman and Bob Goodenow and the other related members of the NHL executive and the NHLPA executive to sit down and negotiate until they come to an agreement.
This petition is for all National Hockey League fans. The players and owners have taken many liberties upon we the fans and so I propose that we turn our backs on the league for as long as they remain locked-out and without a collective bargainning agreement.
For instance, if the league remains locked out for the remainder of our season and returns in Ocotber 2005, we as fans do not return to the rinks, watch them on television, or buy NHL related merchandise until October 2006.
So unless the negotiating is done consistently and with a common goal acheived, when the league does eventually come back, we will ignore it for the same amount of time it ignored us, the fans.
