This petition is intended for Florida residents. It is to be sent to the Florida legislature. The petition pertains to the citizens insurance that the taxpayers of the state of Florida are subsidizing. Are you willing to PAY the insurance costs of the MILLIONAIRES LIVING ON THE COAST OF FLORIDA? I'm not, some of these rich pay less for their beach home insurance than I pay for my home that is assessed at less than $100,000 and far from the beach. The Tampa Tribune (03/26/06) has a front page article that gives rates for Pasco and Pinellas counties per $100,000 of citizens insurance. Pasco county $457 per $100,000 Pinellas county $412 per $100,000 for homes worth $1,000,000 or more. How I wish I could purchase my insurance at this rate. My savings would be almost $800 a year. The politicians need to change the rates and quit giving the millionaires preferential treatment. Please sign this petition Florida residents and I will email the petition and names of Florida voters to every state legislator.

I live in Pasco County, and although I am irate at the huge increases in Citizens Insurance premiums and the fact that they are really operating as a monopoly, I disagree with your assessment of Pasco rates being $457. per 100,000 because I am paying $105

If the bank approved us for X amount a month in mortgage, & the Bank forces the homeowners to have insurance that is going up 60-70\%, I see trouble not just for us but for them as well.

Citizens just sold my policy to Security First and it increased over 100\%, and my mother-in-law's insurance company just sold her policy to Citizens Insurance and her premium increased over 100\%. Looks like the insurance companies way to avoid the label
