George Mason University Dining Services

On behalf of the newly organized, For Opening Or Dining coalition (FOOD), We hereby request change in the dining services here at George Mason University. Food is the fuel by which college kids across America need to achieve higher academic progress. The Johnson Center food court is shut down too early on Friday, and not even open some weekends. In order to expand GMUs on campus population, accommodations need to be made to feed the students. The Johnson Center, including all venues, should be open for business every day of the week. We cannot settle for less. In order to feed the hungry kids who are not fortunate enough to own a car, we need readily available food for their consumption. Business may be slower on these days; however, there are many ways to cope with it, just like the fast food chains outside of our campus do. Paying on the average of $1,300 for meal plans, and still not being able to eat on campus is absurd. We, the students For Opening Our Dining, ask that Dining services find and implement a way to feed the students who help them everyday by purchasing thousands of dollars worth of food.
