Get Angel Learning Back

To Insight School students, whether it is Insight School of Minnesota, Colorado, Washington, Idaho, Kansas, California, Oregon, or Wisconsin. And parents. I have made this petition in the hopes of getting Angel Learning back to be the providers of our education. As tax-payers dont we get the rights to say what system we are attending online school with, they obviously dont think so. I remember registering for school last spring [2011] for school through Angel Learning. Then all of a sudden, I get something in August in the mail talking about some merger with K12. At first I was willing to try it, so I did and found it to be a mistake on Insight Schools part. Now, dont be blaming the teachers, and heads of schools for this. This is the head honchos for the school. The ones that run it are the one that made this choice with out asking first. They made a choice that isn't good for our education. I did a quick study on a discussion on Faceebook between sixteen kids. Fourteen of the students said they "Hate k12" and only two said they like it. Yet they are ignored. I know from experience, if I don't like something, I am less willing to do it. Everyone is like that. So if we don't like the system, grades will suffer. They already are. Last year I was logging 25-30 hours a week. Now I am logging barely 10. Do the math.

Some problems with K12:
1) School work is too rushed, a whole semesters worth of classes in the time of a QUARTER? Who wants to rush through a math test; I know when youre taking a standardized test in your state the thing that is stated multiple times is DONT RUSH! Rushing through things does not show your best work, and will result in wrong answers.
2) You dont have a CLUE when things are due. Unlike Angel Learning, it would tell you your Course Grade, Target Grade, and Course Average. Along with on the course schedule it would have due dates, and be color coded. Red for overdue, Green for turned in, and Yellow for not due yet.
3) Hard to navigate.
4) Logs you out too fast. It logged me out when I was in the MIDDLE OF A 100 POINT EXAM. Which I failed and it killed my grade.
5) No one has motivation to log in.
6) They limit you to three classes.
7) You have to have an old, outdated version of a browser just to LOG IN to school.
8) Multiple essays on timed tests, plus questions to answer. You run out of time, and dont pass tests.

What students and parents have to say:
I want Dale Johnston back, I want the interactive games back, I want the chance for prizes to come back, and I want a system that actually works back. All the things I listed motivated kids to log in, because it was an entertaining environment and everyone wanted chances to win gift cards, or shirts, or to play games before or after they're done with their course work. I want somewhere I can look and see what is due, with the Red, Green, and Yellow colors signifying what status my assignments are at. I know I felt like a boss when I would go from a wall of red or yellow and saw it all turn green. I liked being able to see what I got on a test score right after I took it, I MISS the chance to re-take a test and see if you can get a better score. It makes me want to drop out

I agree ------..I've been in the hospital at the beginning of school and now I'm in a nursing home. The internet here is horrible at times and I have NO motivation whatsoever and I have done barely anything in my classes...I even emailed about my science book and I STILL haven't received it...I want angel back pronto. Plus I have to graduate this year otherwise I only have 1 more year to get my diploma otherwise I have to go do the GED and I do NOT want to do that. =/

I'm behind in my classes. I don't want to log in. I was going to go to k12 before, but I didnt like it, so that's why I went to insight, and now they switch to it? So stupid. They should've let us seniors stay at angel. It's not right that we have to switch in our last year of hs isn't fair to us.

k12 sucks.. I hate it. I did it for a few weeks.. Im going to Public school or doing Post Secondary..OMG I hate k12!

Im allowing my daughter to drop out and get her GED, online was the last thing that we were going to try, and this change just was wrong.

I left public school because I got into legal issues and there were harassing students in a public school so I literally do not have another option for this year my senior year other than switch to another online public school if it does not get easier. We all have our reasons for switching to this school but I just don't see how this school can continue to go on pushing people beyond their capabilities and making it harder for them. :(
