Blink 182, American pop-punk outfit were planning to headline at the Perth Rock-it festival until unfortunately Travis Barker, drummer of Blink had an accident and was unable to play. This is an extract from Blink 182's news website.
"Santa Monica, California, March 15, 2004 - blink-182 drummer Travis Barker injured his right foot on March 12th while on tour in Australia -- an injury that resulted in the cancellation of the remainder of the tour. With the band in the midst of a world tour promoting their new untitled Geffen album, and preparing to play that night in Adelaide, Australia, Travis fell. After seeking medical attention, doctors put a cast on his foot. Travis then reversed his drum kit and played the show that night, however, the band was forced to return home Saturday."
Blink 182 cancelled their tour of Australia, including the Perth Rock-it festival. They have re-scheduled their concerts in Sydney and Brisbane but have failed to include Perth in their return trip. Some think this may be due to the fact that they werent playing a full concert in Perth only being included in a festival but they have still backed out on us for the second time. The first time they pulled out they came back but it seems not to be this time. This has greatly upset many fans and Rock-it goers and many people feel they have been given a raw deal. This petition was started so maybe we may have a chance to get Blink 182 back here to Perth. If you feel about this issue it would be appreciated if you could sign this petition and spread the word for others to do the same so maybe the youth of Perth can finally do something about being left out of major bands touring plans. the perth rock scene is totally awesome Blink 182... u guys totally missed out... everyone at rockit was in blink gear and most people were really only there to see u guys and seeing the other bands woulda just been a bonus... so please come back and play
