We, the undersigned, politely request that Radio 2 finally get rid of Steve Wright and his "Big Show" because 30 years of it is more than enough for anyone to take. His show format is old and stale, he pays no attention to the music he plays (talking over and failing to inform the listener of the artist's name) and most of all he's just not entertaining or amusing - why else would he need so many people in the studio with him? It's blatantly obvious that most of the show is pre-recorded, making his "live interviews" cringeworthy. There are so many talented, fresh, entertaining presenters on Radio 2 who are more than capable of hosting a LIVE show ON THEIR OWN and next to them Mr Wright's show really is shown up as the tired and unfunny. It speaks volumes that the press shots of him used on the Radio 2 website are at least a decade old. Chris Tarrant may also have been gracing the airwaves for a while now but it's a welcome relief when he stands in for Mr Wright as he still manages to remain listenable and entertaining. Please, Radio 2, see some sense and realise just how many of us instantly turn off the radio as soon as it hits 2pm, and wait until 5 before we switch back on again.
