Give It Back!

Sailor Moon was many people's introduction anime, and we owe a great deal to Cartoon Network for airing it. Many remember the first episode they ever watched, and also remember their surprise when they found out from a close friend that there were other senshi besides the inner sailor scouts. Cartoon Network opened a door for us, and for that we owe them eternal gratitude, but a lot of us do feel that their decision to take Sailor Moon off of the air was a huge mistake.

Ever since Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon came to the United States in the 1990's, it was immiediatley a huge success. Soon after, websites and fan clubs began to form. When searching on http://www.google.com for "Sailor Moon," one will get over 700,000 results! That is only seraching on one scout, and those are only the results from one website! If this doesn't prove how many Sailor Moon fans there really are, what will?

We are not only asking for the episodes back, but we are also asking for a correct dub! It is ridiculous what DiC and Cloverway and all of the other companies have done to this series! In Japan, the show is rated for thirteen years and up, but they have done so much cutting and stabbing that now five year olds can watch this show! The dubbing of the names is a horrendous thing in itself. How could someone get Amara from Haruka, and why do they keep Hotaru's Japanese name, but nobody elses? If someone thinks about this, it makes absolutely no sense. They dubbed not only names wrong, but transformations and pairings wrong as well. Why do the companies feel we will get so offended if you show lesbians on the air? Haruka (Amara) and Michiru (Michelle) are NOT cousins, they are, and yes you read this right, LOVERS! What harm would it do to keep that in there? It just makes it look worse when it seems two cousins flirt constantly.

Now we all know you are not the dubbing companies, but you do have the power to talk to them, unlike we do.

Many are sure that you have gotten more petitions, for myself, and many others have signed different one's, but we do hope that this will also help you make the decision to begin airing Sailor Moon again, with or without the correct dubbing.
